What actually gets read

Most cover letters are skimmed for about eight seconds before the reader decides whether to open the CV. That means the middle three lines carry the whole letter, which is why this draft puts your measurable wins there as a bullet list rather than burying them in prose.

Replace every adjective with a number. "Improved efficiency" tells a hiring manager nothing; "cut order processing from four days to one" tells them what you would do for them. If you cannot attach a figure to a claim, it probably does not belong in the letter.

Name the company for a real reason. A line showing you know what they are working on this year separates you from the hundred applicants who sent the same paragraph everywhere.
